Golden Rocket Barberry (Berberis thunbergii ‘Golden Rocket’) is a small, deciduous shrub that is prized for its striking golden-yellow foliage and upright, narrow growth habit. It is a cultivar of the Japanese barberry, which is native to Japan and eastern Asia.

This plant typically grows to a height of 4-5 feet with a width of 1-2 feet. Its small, ovate leaves emerge in spring as bright golden-yellow and gradually turn to a chartreuse green color as the season progresses. In fall, the foliage takes on a reddish-orange color. It produces small, pale yellow flowers in the spring that give way to bright red berries in the fall, which are attractive to birds and other wildlife.

Golden Rocket Barberry prefers full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. It is a tough and hardy plant that can tolerate a wide range of soil types and growing conditions. It is also relatively low-maintenance and requires only occasional pruning to maintain its shape and size.
